About

A healer, a listener, a voice

Psychology taught me to listen. The arts taught me to be present. Healing taught me that love is the medicine.

Listening was the first training

My background is in psychology. It gave me the discipline of listening: the patience to let a person tell their story in their own order, the respect for how a life shapes a body and a mind, and a suspicion of anything that claims to explain a person too quickly.

What psychology could not give me was a place for the mysterious — for the moments when something shifts that cannot be measured, for the light that people meet in their darkest hours under many different names. That is what the healing work holds, and it is why I keep both.

The arts were the second

My background is also in the performing and fine arts. I know what it is to stand in front of others and be seen; I know what a voice does when it is freed, and what it does when it is frightened. I know that a room can be held, that silence can be composed, and that presence is something you can practise.

So much of healing is improvisation: working with what is actually here, in this hour, with this person, rather than with the session you planned. The arts taught me that. They also taught me that the voice of love — the one that sounds within and the one that sounds between people — is the finest instrument any of us is given.

Years inside the world of medicine

I have spent years working in healing across most all the modalities of medicine, and I have come to hold each of them with respect. I have seen what surgery and medicine do that nothing else can. I have seen what therapy, rehabilitation, nursing, and the quiet care of another person do that nothing else can either.

What I bring is the part that too often has no room in a clinic: the unhurried hour, the whole person, the spiritual question that a diagnosis cannot answer. I work alongside doctors and therapists rather than in place of them, and I am always glad to coordinate with them — with your permission.

The light of love, in all its names and forms

People come to this work carrying many names for what is holy, and some carrying none. I honour them all. I have sat with people praying in the words of their tradition, and with people whose prayer was a single honest word, or a silence, or a hand held. I do not believe the light is narrowed by the name we give it.

What I do believe is this: the power of the voice of love, within and without, allows you to find your own healing. Not mine. Not the method's. Yours. My part is to hold the space, to keep the light steady, and to remind you of what you already are until you can see it for yourself.

You are not a problem to be fixed. You are a being already being healed.

How I work

  • At your pace. Nothing is forced, and you can stop or change direction at any moment.
  • In confidence. What is said and what happens stays between us.
  • Within your consent. Touch, hypnosis, prayer and sound all begin with your agreement, and you may withdraw it at any time.
  • Without judgement. Every body, every faith, every history is welcome here.
  • Honestly. If something is beyond my skill, or belongs with a doctor, I will tell you and help you find who to see.

A note on credentials

My training includes spiritual healing, hypnotherapy and hypnosis training, and the Taoist Healing Tao practices received through the lineage of Mantak Chia, alongside my background in psychology and the arts. If you would like to know more about a particular training before we begin, please ask.

I would like to meet you

Whatever you are carrying, you do not have to explain it well. Write to me in your own words, and we will begin there.
